Gentian first acquired a retail interest at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in 2005 when the new PFI-funded hospital opened. A second interest was secured in 2009 with the underlease of the retail elements in the Tower block main entrance.
What we did
Gentian's underlease in the main entrance is for a term of 30-years and the units have been sub-underlet to Compass t/a Costa Coffee and Amigo. Compass has sub-sub-underlet one of their units to Books Plus.
The Tower block underlease is a for a term of 25 years and, again, has been sub-underlet to Compass t/a Amigo.
Gentian’s in-house estates team manage the retailer’s occupation including collecting the rents and service charges and taking all financial and operational risks associated with the space.
