Gentian Developments and their joint venture partners Sunny Day Trading have completed the purchase of 6.1 acres of industrial land at Buckmore Park. The site in Petersfield is next to the junction of the A3 and A272.
The site has outline planning consent for 50,000 sq ft of industrial, employment and R and D uses. It will be developed in tandem with the company's adjoining site to provide over 70,000 sq ft in total on a site area of 7.5 acres.
Gentian Developments will submit a planning application to discharge all reserved matters. The new scheme will be targeting an "excellent" BREAM rating and will look to be one of the most sustainable industrial developments ever carried out in the UK. It will incorporate green roofs and rainwater gardens. There will also be provision of solar energy and an enhanced Biodiversity scheme.
It is hoped that construction will start during the first half of 2022.
Director of Planning at Gentian, Aiden Murray said: "We are looking forward to working with South Downs National Park to deliver a high quality, sustainable employment scheme. This will service both local and regional businesses and support the economic growth of this part of Hampshire and the surrounding area."
This scheme is part of the larger Buckmore development. This includes a site for 85 dwellings, a country park and a new classic car storage facility that has been developed by Pikes Peak.
Rocmor acted for the purchasers and Ian Judd and Partners for the vendor. Letting agents for the industrial development are Vail Williams and JLL.
