Winchester-based Gentian Developments, who have investments across the UK, are operating as the local lead in a consortium purchasing the Brooks Shopping Centre in the city. Contracts were exchanged last week, and completion is expected imminently, conditional upon approval from Winchester City Council.
The consortia members are led by Flodrive who have extensive investments and experience in the UK Retail Property Market, and look forward to working with Winchester City Council, who are Freeholders of the Centre.
The Brooks Shopping Centre is currently home to several national retailers including Waterstones, Primark and TK Maxx and the recently opened Hampshire Cultural Trust attraction, 878 AD.
Gentian Development Group is a dynamic developer and investor with a property investment portfolio in excess of £120m. In the past two years they have purchased a number of significant retail units on Winchester's High Street. The purchase of the Brooks Shopping Centre demonstrates their continued commitment and confidence in the city's diverse retail offering and future.
Managing Director of Gentian, Nick Ekins said: "We are delighted to be operating as the local lead for this dynamic consortium. Collectively the group has vast experience in creating and developing desirable retail centres across the UK. We will harness this expertise to modernise and improve the Brooks Centre to make it more attractive to both retailers and customers."
